Ingredients:

  • 100 g (3.5 oz) water

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the dough:

    • In a large bowl, combine the flour, yeast, and salt.
    • Add the vegetable oil and water to the bowl and mix well.
    • Add the flour mixture to the bowl and mix until a soft and slightly sticky dough forms.
    • If the dough is too dry, add a little more water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until it reaches a soft and elastic consistency.
    • Form the dough into a ball, cover it with plastic wrap, and let it rest for 30 minutes at room temperature.
  2. Knead the dough:

    • On a lightly floured surface, knead the dough for 10-15 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
    • Add a little more water if the dough is too dry, or a little more flour if it is too sticky.
  3. Let the dough rise:

    • Cover the dough with plastic wrap and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
  4. Punch down and divide:

    • After the dough has risen, punch it down to release the air.
    • Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces.
    • Roll out each piece of dough into a thin sheet, about 0.5 mm (0.02 in) thick.
  5. Cook the bread:

    • Heat a large pot of water to 90°C (194°F).
    • Drop the dough pieces into the boiling water for 3-5 minutes, or until they float to the surface.
    • Remove the bread from the water with a slotted spoon and drain on a wire rack.
  6. Bake the bread:

    • Preheat your oven to 220°C (430°F).
    • Bake the bread for 15-20 minutes, or until it is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
  7. Serve and enjoy:

    • Serve the freshly baked bread warm with butter or your favorite toppings.

Tips:

  • For a more flavorful bread, add 1 tablespoon of sesame oil or peanut oil to the dough.
